Charge Nurse

Position Overview:
The Charge Nurse supports and assists the Medical Director and physician team in coordinating the daily clinical and nursing functions of the Center. This role ensures high-quality, efficient patient care while maintaining compliance with facility policies and state regulations. The Charge Nurse provides on-floor leadership to nursing and clinical support staff, oversees patient flow, upholds safety and infection control standards, and serves as a resource for clinical problem-solving throughout the day.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Medical Director with daily coordination of clinical operations to ensure appropriate staffing and regulatory compliance
- Serves as the on-floor resource for nursing and clinical support staff, providing coaching and real-time problem-solving
- Oversees patient flow through Pre-Op, OR, and PACU to ensure efficiency and on-time case progression
- Coordinates daily clinical staffing assignments based on patient acuity and case volume
- Ensures compliance with safety procedures, infection control practices, and facility protocols
- Provides direct patient care as needed, including assessments, medication administration, IV starts, and post-operative monitoring
- Ensures thorough, accurate, and timely documentation in all clinical areas
- Supports QAPI activities by participating in audits, collecting data, and reinforcing corrective actions
Qualifications:
- Current state RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS required (PALS preferred)
- ADN or BSN degree (BSN preferred)
- Working understanding of procedure suite operations, sterile technique, and infection control
- Strong leadership skills and ability to communicate effectively with physicians and staff
- Ability to maintain audit readiness and state regulatory requirements
Experience:
- Perioperative/Procedure Center (Pre-Op, OR, PACU): 2–3 years (Required)
- Charge Nurse or Leadership: (Preferred)
- Pain Management: (Preferred)
