Surgical Technician

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a qualified Surgical Technician to add to our growing practice in the North Phoenix area! As an Operating Room Technician/Surgical Scrub Tech, you are responsible for assisting in the preparation of the surgical patient and ensuring the operating room is ready for procedures. The ideal candidate will work closely with physicians and facility management to maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient environment.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the scrub technician during procedures, performing sterile handwashing and maintaining a neat operative field
- Ensure all instruments, supplies, and equipment are prepared and available according to the scheduled procedure
- Safeguard the sterility of the surgical field and address any breaks in technique promptly
- Perform sponge and needle counts, handle specimens carefully, and apply dressings
- Assist in timely room turnover between surgeries, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment per protocol
- Manage the cleaning and sterilization of instruments according to manufacturer guidelines
- Share responsibility for inventory control, ensuring supplies are organized, stocked, and stored properly
- Assist with administrative and support duties including data entry, medical records maintenance, and checking for expired supplies
- Adhere to all operating room attire and safety protocols, including proper biohazard disposal
Qualifications:
- CPR Certification (Required)
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, reach, and lift heavy objects
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a congenial rapport with co-workers and physicians
- Ability to manage physical demands of patients emerging from anesthesia
- Commitment to ongoing education and attendance of required annual in-services
- Professionalism and a team-oriented mindset
Experience:
- Surgical Technician: 1 year (Preferred; training provided for candidates demonstrating high competency)
